The well known QUEEN of the dahlia world.
Beautiful ethereal form and color.
Though they can get 8" for some locations, mine range from 3-6" which actually is a very usable size for cut flowers. With dahlias, size of blooms and size of plants can greatly vary from location to location and even year to year depending on climate and soil. This dahlia really plays into veritability. See photo two for much smaller blooms from the same plant as photo 1 just later in the season.
With its unique coloring of barely-their latte brown/blush/pink, it is great demand for wedding work and make beautiful arrangements. The coloring can vary on the same plant with some blooms more brown/beige, pale peach to a pink blush. As the season progresses and the flowers mature, these color variations appear more. I will have a classice beige bloom then a day later have a light pink bloom
A favorite of bugs but who cares; absolutely gorgeous. I experimented with organza bags (last photo) last season; too much work for our small and busy farm, but if there was one candidate to get that special treatment to protect from bugs it is this flower!
NOT a good tuber producer. They make giant tubers but only 1-5 per plant for me. I see them maintain a high price on the dahlia market- this must be why, slow to cultivate!
